'Pen Friend' by Anita Davies
This is my reply postcard to Kate.
Kate sent me the most beautiful flower painted onto a section of text and mounted onto a deep red card. Her creativity inspired me to attempt something similar for her reply, so I took a copy of my first weekly illustrated column, printed in the Cambs Times & Wisbech Standard, and covered a postcard with it. I then took my new Sharpie pens and added one of my favourite art tools to the composition..My bright red Lamy Safari fountain pen.
It was the first time I used my new markers and I'm quite pleased with the results, I hope Kate is too!

Oh what fun Ive just had running through all the postcards I have not seen to date. So many and such variety of design and ideas and each response by you so unique. Loved the geese with bloomers and the sheep you received. You simply must make a book in due course. This contestant for the oldest art blogger in the world insists... and us oldies have to be obeyed!!!!
The red fountain pen looks so dramatic against the black & white of the column!!
Stunning...I'll bet in real life it is a "knock out"! How much more personal can you get-you are something else Anita! These cards continue to shine. Composition, Materials, Color, Design...A+
